Janis and Matt's celebration was a beautiful winter wonderland with heartfelt flair and colorful curation.
Meet the Ehland's...
They first met at Matt’s fraternity initiation party. "Janis was smitten with Matt, but she wasn’t single so we were only friends. Our mutual friend, Greg, had introduced us and insisted that we would make a good couple. After several months, Janis became single and Matt was immediately encouraged to ask Janis out, and despite her wanting to take it slow, they started dating. An eternity later (or at least it felt like it; it was really like 8 months) Janis agreed that we could be “boyfriend/girlfriend” instead of just dating." -Janis Ehland
THE PROPOSAL: "Janis was on a mother-daughter trip to Florida. Matt asked his friends, “Is anyone is good at keeping secrets and available to do a favor for me tomorrow afternoon (the day Janis was coming back home) after work?”. Since Matt wouldn’t tell what the secret was, it caused quite a ruckus within the friend group and ultimately he had to spill the beans and tell them his proposal plans. We were going to go to a dog park with Porter and he had a friend prep one of the pavilions with some flowers, a bottle of champagne and our celebratory Jameson bottle." -Janis Ehland
WHEN? The Ehland's made it official on November 13, 2021.
WHERE? The ceremony took place at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Menomonee Falls. They celebrated at Twelve29 nearby in Lannon, WI.
HEARTFELT
Janis and Matt's wedding day was a love letter to each other, showing their interests and strong commitment to family. Their dog, Porter, was the perfect photobomber of their engagement photos, and had a fun surprise appearance to see Janis in white. The boutonnières were fashioned using shell casings from Matt's grandfather's 21 gun salute at his funeral.
COLORFUL
The design planning of their special day spared no details when creating the perfect, noteworthy color scheme. Beautiful scarlet and orange bring in the warmth of the season while cream, powder blue, and navy bring it all together.
